What will my post-op massage include?

Please note that post-surgical massage is not your typical relaxation massage and can be a little uncomfortable at first. All our therapists are properly trained and will work with you through your individual pain tolerance. Your recovery is a personal journey unlike anyone else's, we will always adjust our treatments to accommodate you, while remaining effective in our goal for a quicker recovery. Each massage will include a variety of therapy techniques, including, but not limited to: Manual Lymph Drainage, Fascial Manipulation, General Swedish Massage, Dry Brushing and Cupping. The techniques used will vary, depending on your individual stage of recovery and tolerance.

Initial Assessment

Ideally, we like to see each patient within 3-5 days after their surgery. It’s important to meet with one of us early on to assess how your body is healing and to prevent any damage being done by improper home care routines or altered posture.

Your initial assessment will include a personal plan for recovery, education on healthy vs potential abnormal symptoms, and lastly, a lesson on proper massage techniques, that will be useful for your personal recovery needs.
